Aahaara (meaning "Food" in Odia) is a food subsidisation program run by the Government of Odisha to provide cheap lunch to people at five rupees. The actual cost of the food is around rupees 20, but is subsidised to rupees 5.

Baripada Municipality has the distinction as one of the oldest and majestic urban intitutions of the state. This Municipality has been providing basic civic services uninterruptedly to it's urban population to live a hassle free and dignified life. In order to provide quality service at the door step of the people a dedicated portal is being released with various applications facility to make the municipality people centric and accountable.This will develop discipline among the people living in municipal areas and make them aware of their rights and responsibilities. I sincerely hope that these web facilities would definitely improve the standard of service of our municipality and ultimately it would be a step towards transparency and activism.
